Each year the leading paint manufacturers and interiors experts predict the latest kitchen colour trends – and whilst some trends disappear as quickly as they arrive, we see others stick around year after year.

For the last decade clean white kitchens have come out on top but in 2018/19 we’re starting to see a swing towards bold cabinetry, two-toned kitchens, and natural neutrals.

At Jamie Knight, we believe that colour, like our kitchens, should be bespoke to you – thinking about your personality, style, and the overall look and feel of your home interiors throughout the design process. And whilst we would always advocate choosing a colour that you adore over the latest Instagram trend – we wanted to show some love for a neutral that we’re currently seeing our customers drawn to time and time again.

Cornforth White by Farrow and Ball.

This well-loved neutral is described on the Farrow and Ball site as an ‘understated grey… neither too warm nor too cool and provides a lovely calming feel to the room’.

Sitting as a mid-tone in the group of Easy Neutrals, it’s a highly versatile shade working equally well as both a wall and cabinetry colour. It can enhance a wide range of shades from this year’s trendy bold greens and blues to the popular natural neutrals we see returning year after year.

Its soft-hue helps to bring out the romantic side of the colour. And when paired with blush pinks and soft furnishings can create the most calming of rooms – perfect for a tranquil bedroom setting.

Whilst it’s softer side is great for living rooms, it’s neutral tones work to balances out bolder colours seamlessly. So if you want to dip your toes into the bold colour trend without leaving behind the security of neutrals, try pairing Cornforth White wall cabinets with a bold blue kitchen island – a touch of modernity to an otherwise classic kitchen.

If Cornforth White still isn’t your thing, we’ve something for everyone in our extensive paint and paper library and can paint your cabinets in an unlimited range of colours at our in-house spray shop.
